Leaflets revised in line with updated systematic review findings

We are pleased to announce that we have recently revised the content of some of our leaflets to reflect updated systematic review findings. The following leaflets have been edited:

Imperial College Safeguarding Children and Young People Meeting: London, UK – 21 May 2013

Imperial College London (IC) is pleased to announce their child protection meeting, entitled: “Safeguarding Children and Young People”. The meeting will take place at the Royal College of Physicians, London, on Tuesday 21 May 2013.

Dr Sabine Maguire will be discussing findings resulting from our systematic review of early years neglect. Her presentation, entitled: “Emotional neglect and abuse in pre-school children” will be given at 2.45pm.

NSPCC and Cardiff Child Protection Systematic Reviews

Our CORE-INFO leaflet summarises what is currently known about children aged less than six years who have been emotionally neglected or emotionally abused

Emotional neglect and emotional abuse in pre-school children (PDF, 329KB) is based on a systematic review of all the quality work in the world literature into features of emotional neglect or abuse on young children less than six years old. The information will be of use to a wide range of professionals in different disciplines who work with babies, young children and their families, including but not limited to paediatricians, health visitors, general practitioners, social workers, and nursery nurses.

Emotional neglect and emotional abuse in pre-school children is one of a series of information leaflets on aspects of child abuse based on a collaborative project by the NSPCC and Cardiff Child Protection Systematic Reviews at the Department of Child Health, Cardiff University.
